Dress Code
Proper attire is to worn by all students to foster the best learning environment.

*    Students must wear belts without large or shiny buckles.  Belts are to be visible.

*    Clothing should fit properly with no sagging.  Oversized or undersized clothing will not be allowed such as leggings, tights worn   
       as pants, etc.

*    Shirts are to be tucked in at all times.  Undershirts should be white.

*    Beards and mustaches must be neatly trimmed.  Moderate hairstyles are permitted.

*    Tank tops and undershirts as outer garments are not acceptable.  Shirts or blouses that tie at the midriff, clothing not properly fastened, or
       any item of clothing with bare midriff is not be worn.

*    Knee-length walking shorts may be worn.  Gym shorts are appropriate only for physical education classes and are not to be worn to
       attend other classes.

*    Caps, hats, scarfs, bandannas, and other head gear are not to be worn in the school building.

*    Slippers, house shoes, crocs, beachwear, shower thongs and other footwear judged by the principal as inapropriate or unsafe for school
       are not to be work during school hours.  For safety procedures, students are to wear only closed-toed sandals.

*    Sweaters or sweater-vests may be worn as long as the collar of the district shirt is showing.

*    District shirts must be worn under coats, hoodies, and hooded sweatshirts.

*    Students are not to wear sunglasses in the building unless a doctor's permit to this effect is on file.

*    Clothing, jewelry, buttons, patches or any other item with words, phrases, symbols, pictures or signs which use indecent, profane,
       suggestive, or inflammatory words, or promote drugs, alcohol or tobacco, or clothing indicative of a non-school-sponsored
       activity are not to be worn.

*    Males may not wear earrings or any other type of piercing.

*    Females may only wear earrings.  All other piercings are not allowed such as nose rings, tongue rings, navel rings, eye ring, lip rings, or
      any other body piercings.

*    Body tattoos should be covered.

*    For the health and safety of all students, ornate and/or expensive jewelry such as medallions and gold chains, are not to be worn by
       students while on school property or school sponsored activities.  Such items place students in danger of being accidentally injured,
       assaulted, or robbed and are not a part of the student dress code.





Uniform Policy

The North Bolivar Consolidated School District will implement the following school uniform policy for all students in grades kindergarten through twelve.  Uniforms should be worn each day including field trips and other related events.  Exceptions will be granted for special occasions and events.
I. T. Montgomery Elementary School

Navy blue polo style (collar/buttons) shirt, Khaki (not off white or beige) pants/shorts with belt, and closed shoes.  Any t-shirt or undershirt must be solid white.
John F. Kennedy Memorial High School

Grades 7-8

Navy blue polo style (collar/buttons) shirt, Khaki (not off white or beige) pants/shorts with belt, and closed shoes.  Any t-shirt or undershirt must be solid white.

Grades 9-12

Royal blue polo style (collar/buttons) shirt, Khaki (not off white or beige) pants/shorts with belt, and closed shoes.  Any t-shirt/undershirt must be solid white.

Light blue, gold, or royal blue polo style (collar/buttons) shirt, Khaki (not off white or beige) or navy pants/shorts with belt, and closed shoes.  Any t-shirt/undershirt must be solid white.


The principal shall have the final decision about the appropriateness of the cloting for school.  All teachers will check the appropriateness or inappropriateness of dress as students arrive at school and immediately refer students, who are in violation, to the principal.
