I.T. Montgomery Elementary School partnered with Americorp America Reads Mississippi members for a night of “Spooky Reading”. Mayor Leighton Aldridge, Sheriff Kelvin Williams, and other community volunteers read to the students and passed out treats. Local youth author, Braylen Rimmer, read a snippet from his book. Thanks to all who participated and came out to enjoy the fun.
America Reads-Mississippi is dedicated to improving the reading skills of students, encouraging public awareness and support of literacy, and helping to increase the number of certified teachers in Mississippi.
